I'm not obnoxious about it, but I'll make suggestions like "Get up a

Good idea!
Usually then there's some other excuse, and then another after that,
and it's clear that this person is one of those "magic pill" people
who isn't actually interested in making a change.
So very true. There's always an excuse for those who don't want to make
the effort yet (or ever).
To top it off, she's watched my wife and I lose all this weight and
tell her how easy it was. But it still isn't enough to get her going.
At this point, any more nudging from us will be obnoxious...like
pushing a religion on someone.
I have the same issue with my mother. She's been medically classified as
morbidly obese pretty much my entire life, but she refuses to do
anything about it. When I lived nearby, I encouraged her to join the gym
with me so we could support each other. She did so and went a handful of
times then stopped going. I continued on a steady program and lost 20
pounds. She saw my success AND she had a built-in workout buddy, but she
just didn't want to do it.
At that point, there's nothing to do, but let it go and hope they come
to their senses on their own.
